I've just finished recording the soundtrack to Julia's demo reel... but I'm taking a moment away from that before posting it to bring up some current events. (Finally have a half a day to do some work on my music, heh).
According to CBC, and a number of other news sources, Liberal leader Stephan Dion is in negotiations with the NDP party to cast a vote of no confidence on Conservative leader Stephen Harper's team.
This is unacceptable.
We JUST FREAKING VOTED! The people have made it clear (incredibly clear) that they trust the Conservatives more than the Liberals.
Yet, here comes Stephan Dion, ignoring the votes of the people, and trying to cast a vote of no confidence.
In his mind, if he can't be voted into power... he'll just steal it.
THIS IS NOT BECOMING OF A DEMOCRATIC NATION.
The democratic process has spoken only a few months ago. The results? The conservatives gained almost twice the votes as the Liberals. The PEOPLE want the Conservatives in power.
Conservatives : 143 seats.
Liberals: 77 seats.
Basically, the Liberals will need to persuade both the NDP (with 37 seats) and la Bloc d'Quebecois (with 49 seats) in order to hold majority on the voting process... but they can't get it.
So instead, they're calling a vote of no confidence.
Really?
You just lost the election by an incredible margin... and you expect the public to support you siezing power through alternative means?
Screw that. The democratic process must be respected... if he can't handle the fact that we voted for the other guy... maybe, just maybe you shouldn't be in politics in the first place.
So, say it with me guys and gals... "MR. DION, WE DO NOT RECOGNIZE YOUR AUTHORITY"
